Who We Are
Texas Pulmonary Foundation is a Texas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit committed to advancing pulmonary care, expanding access, and helping build a stronger innovation infrastructure for the field.
Why We Exist
Texas Pulmonary Foundation advances pulmonary care, access, and innovation. We support patients today while helping build the infrastructure for better cardiopulmonary outcomes tomorrow.
Pulmonary disease imposes enormous burdens on patients, families, and the broader healthcare system. Access to quality care, specialized support, and evidence-based innovation remains uneven. We exist to help close those gaps through direct patient assistance, systemic access work, education, and a growing commitment to translational research and technology.
We are a nonprofit institution, not a large bureaucracy. We operate with discipline, transparency, and a clear-eyed commitment to what actually helps patients. Our programs are built to be meaningful, not performative.
How We Got Here
Texas Pulmonary Foundation was founded with a clear purpose: to provide meaningful, sustained support for individuals affected by pulmonary disease, and to begin building the institutional infrastructure that the pulmonary field needs to improve outcomes over time.
We recognized early that the field required more than reactive assistance. It required an organization willing to look ahead and invest in access work, patient navigation, and eventually translational research that bridges clinical knowledge with real-world application.
In 2026, we took a significant step forward with the establishment of the Institute for Cardiopulmonary Mobility — a translational research initiative operating under the TPF umbrella and focused on the intersection of movement science, autonomic function, and pulmonary rehabilitation. The Institute reflects our belief that better outcomes require more than clinical delivery; they require the kind of structured inquiry that connects what we know in the clinic to what we can prove and scale.
Our organizational story is still being written. We are a growing institution with serious ambitions and a practical, patient-first approach. We are honest about our current scale while committed to the long-term vision that drives our work.
We operate with discipline, transparency, and a clear-eyed commitment to what actually helps patients. Our programs are built to be meaningful, not performative.
